My Nephew is a respiratory therapist who has asthma. Before receiving the Optimal Life product, he was in and out of the hospital frequently, not filling his asthma prescriptions and missing work. His wife told me they watched the video together and afterwards he got his prescriptions filled and started taking his medicine regularly. She was really impressed with his behavior after studying the materials.

Knowledge really is power. When I heard from the doctor for the first time that Liam was diagnosed with asthma, I almost cried, unsure of what this meant. Now that I’ve received Optimal Life: The Essentials of Asthma, I feel equipped and ready for whatever happens in the future. Not only do I know more about what to expect, but ways I can help my son. I feel reassured that he can lead a full, happy and healthy life. Asthma does not (and has not) slowed him down one bit! I honestly couldn’t ask for anything more!

The Essentials of Diabetes is broken down in to categories, and sub-categories, so you can always go back and easily reference material that you’ve read before but still question. Each category has DVD actions, which provide a quick summary of the information the DVD presented you with. You will not just learn about diabetes, and treatment of diabetes, but also learn about all the risks associated with diabetes and how to avoid those risks.

When my son was first diagnosed I wish I knew what kind of questions to ask. This probably sounds like a simple and incomplete thought/ wish but I honestly didn’t know what to ask. As a student in Community Health Science at the time I briefly read up on asthma but never really cared to learn more. I was kicking myself for not knowing more and what to ask the doctor. I wish I knew what books would be a good resource to explain what asthma is and the triggers that may cause an attack. I was given fliers about asthma and I had my husband, but I needed more…. I just read the book ‘The Essentials of Asthma” written by Christine Lee, Pharm. D., BCPS and it answered all the questions that I seeked in the beginning of my asthma journey. This book is a great resource that answers all of the questions that I had and sometimes still have when caring for my son’s asthma.

I wish that any major situation I’ve been under, health wise that I would’ve had a book (Essentials Of Diabetes) like this to go thru. This book is so thorough on giving details on Diabetes. The book has a full glossary that explains what words mean. Not having gone to Medical School, I’m clueless on a lot of words most of the time, but having them right in front of me, makes it easy to be able to figure it out, without having to google, and finding too much information on the word. In the Book there are also great illustrations and diagrams.
